David Grant Jones, age 78, passed away July 21, 2020.

He was born February 10, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lloyd and Marjorie DeAnn Black Jones.

Married Katherine Lane in Long Beach, California, they later divorced.  He married Dalegene Farmer Jones November 6, 1981 in Castle Dale, Utah.

David honorably served in the US Navy at the beginning of Vietnam when he was 16 years old.  He served on the USS Point Defiance and was the youngest Assault Captain on that ship which was one of the first two ships to drop Marines off in Vietnam.

David’s greatest joys were reading, listening to country and western music and traveling.  He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and all who knew him.

Survived by his wife, Dalegene Jones; children, Travis Lee (Cindy) Jones, Teresa Manley; step daughters, Ronda Kay (Kelly) LeRoy, Cheyenne (Travis) Turner; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Jones; sister, Mary Kate (Rick) Keele; 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Curtis Lloyd Jones; son, Troy Lynn Jones; grandson, Jeffery Parrish; step son, Dale Wallace (Christy) Jones; step mother, Bertha Jones; sister, Mavis (Mike) Stone.

Family Funeral service, Monday, July 27, 2020, 12:00 noon, Castle Dale Stake Center where the family will have a private viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Interment, Orangeville Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
