Less than one week after winning the season opening Region 12 golf meet, the Carbon Dinos continued with a second place finish Tuesday afternoon in Richfield at the Cove View Golf Course.

Once again led by sophomore Bode Salas, the Dinos ended with a team score of 322, finishing 19-strokes back of first place Richfield. South Sevier came in a distant third after firing a team score of 345, followed by Grand, Emery and San Juan.

Salas tied for the low individual score of the meet with a 72. South Sevier’s Carson Thornock and Richfield’s Keaton Anderson equaled Salas for a brilliant day of play.

Kyler Clark delivered for Carbon with the team’s second score at 79. Daron Garner ended with an 83 and Branden Scoville logged the fourth score at 88.

Entering the meet with an 18-stroke lead for the overall top spot in the region, Carbon now trails Richfield by one-stroke. The trip to Cove View is the first of two, since the course is also the home site for the South Sevier Rams. The Dinos will return to Cove View on Sept. 9.

The Region 12 competition will continue on Wednesday, Aug. 26 when the teams meet at the Hideout Golf Course, located in Monticello.

Below are the current region standings following the second meet of the season:
