Southeast Utah Health Department will be holding a drive-thru COVID-19 Testing Clinic on Tuesday, September 1 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the south entrance of Castleview Hospital. Emergency Preparedness Director, Chet Ingram took time to share with listeners all the details of the testing.
“So they will pull up and there will be signage as to which way they need to go through the drive-thru; they’ll pull up, we will come out, we’ll ask them for their name – make sure they are registered. Once they’re registered, they will be tested inside their car, they don’t have to get out of the car, and then they will send the results to the Public Health Lab in Salt Lake, and then they will be able to access their results online two to five days after the testing,” explained Ingram. A pamphlet will be given to the individual with directions on how to obtain their test results online, plus the results will be sent to the Southeast Utah Health Department.
It is very important that individuals understand this is not the anti-body testing. “This is testing that is just for the Corona Virus. You don’t have to be symptomatic; you can be asymptomatic to receive these tests and it’s completely free, it’s all taken care of through the Utah Public Health Lab,” stated Ingram. Those who want to be tested are encouraged to register 24 hours in advance online.
