Arla May Dean, 91, passed away peacefully at Good Life Senior Living in Elmo, Utah, on August 26, 2020.

“Aunt,” as she was affectionately known to everyone, was born May 1, 1929 in Woodruff, Utah, to Steven Ray and Dorathea Olend Dean. She was the youngest of 10 children, and the last to pass away.

She was a lifelong resident of Almy, Wyoming, where she had a great love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. She particularly loved trapping with her dear friend Lila Bond. Arla put many a coyote to bed as the result of her expert calling.

The Wyoming cowboy was emblazoned everywhere in Arla’s home. Wyoming was everything to her; she even had a sign in her home that said, “Home Sweet Wyoming.” She was proud of her state and loved to attend any rodeo she could. Arla was an excellent seamstress and made denim quilts for everyone.

She is survived by her family, Patsy Styvar, Morgan Moon, Judy Truman, Linda King and Sally Lamb; many other loving family members and a community of friends.

Preceded in death by parents and all of her siblings.

Graveside service, Saturday, August 29, 2020, 12:00 noon, Evanston City Cemetery (526 County Road), Evanston, Wyoming.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, Utah where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Arla online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
