Each week Carbon County Sheriff Jeff Wood takes time to speak with Castle Country Radio Station to inform residents about what is currently happening at the Sheriff’s Department. This week’s topic was on speeding and the search for the missing Nebraska male.
The Sheriff’s Office get speeding complaints from all over the county like Kenilworth, Spring Glen, Miller Creek, Old Wellington Road and East Carbon Junction and they are taking these complaints serious. “With the staff we have, we’re trying to get everywhere but we just can’t be everywhere so we’re working hard with the speeding complaints. Just want to let everyone know we are aware; we’re trying all we can to alleviate that. We’ve even put our little speed signs out and various things to kind of make people aware but definitely want people to keep an eye out for our children in the mornings when they’re waiting for the bus and in the evenings when they get off because if you’re not watching for them, they’re not watching for you,” said Sheriff Wood. Drivers should always proceed with caution when children are present.
Yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office released information about a missing male from Nebraska whose car was found in our area. “So we are looking for a 68-year-old, male, his name is Donald. He’s fair-skinned African American male, bald with grey beard, wearing a t-shirt, ballcap and jeans. He was on his way, he’s lives in Nebraska, he was actually on his way from Denver to Las Vegas and he’s not be heard from since last Thursday. He was in Green River when they heard from him last,” explained Sheriff Wood. His vehicle was found near the base of Sam’s Canyon near Whitmore Park Road and Carbon County Search & Rescue Team are currently searching near that area for Donald Brown. The Sheriff’s office would like individuals with any information to contact dispatch.
