The Carbon Lady Dinos continued to hold a top five spot in the latest Utah High School Activities Association’s RPI, heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.

The Union Cougars comfortably hold the top spot in the rankings after racing out to a 17-4 record. South Summit is currently No. 2, followed by Carbon, Morgan and North Sanpete.

The Lady Dinos have continued to impress throughout the region season, becoming one of the top teams in the classification. Carbon will continue play this weekend with a trip to the Sevier Valley Center for games on both Friday and Saturday.

The Emery Lady Spartans are currently ranked No. 12 after accumulating a record of 6-10. Emery will also continue play this Friday, ahead of the of the final on Oct. 20.

The RPI standings are determined by three statistically categories:

*MWP (Modified Winning Percentage): Divide the number of possible points by the number of total available points from games played accounting for the adjustment between classifications.

*OWP (Opponents Winning Percentage): Average of the winning percentage of a team’s opponent.

*OOWP (Opponents’ Opponents Winning Percentage): Same process as OWP except the calculation is with the opponents of the team’s opponent.
