The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for their monthly luncheon and golf tournament all set to take place this month. Executive Director, Allison Preston stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about all the details with listeners.
The October monthly luncheon is set to take place on Thursday, October 15 at the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments’ Atrium on 375 South Carbon Avenue. “But the luncheon is going to be really fun this month. We’ve got city and county highlights, so the commissioners, mayors, things like that will be there, but in addition to that we actually have Congressman Curtis coming to speak at it so it’s going to be pretty awesome,” said Preston. There is still time to RSVP for luncheon as the deadline is on Monday, October 12. Interested individuals can contact the chamber office to RSVP.
Chamber officials have been busy preparing for the upcoming COVID Cup Golf Tournament scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 24. This is open to all members of the community. “We’re super excited for our first golf tournament for the chamber. It is going to be October 24th we have scheduled tee-times starting at 10:00 am. We do still have a couple of team spots, and then we also have lots of sponsorships and hole opportunities still available. If you’re interested or if your business is interested please contact me,” said Preston. The cost to participate is $250.00 per team for non-chamber members and $200.00 for members.
The chamber recently selected new members to the board of directors and Preston was eager to tell listeners all about it, “So we actually just finished our election process for our 2021-2022 term for our new directors. We do have two of them that are re-elects that is Tim Frame with Cache Valley Bank, Jamill Tapia. Then we’re super excited to announce four new ones, we got Jeri Gamber with SEUALG, and we have Lisa Mortensen with Flawless Sheeting, Ryan Peterson who is R&M Billboard, as well as In & Out Inspections, and Scottie Draper with ETV News.” The new directors will be recognized at the Installation Banquet in January 2021.
