Emery High School senior soccer player Alexis Winter closed out her final campaign by receiving a 3A All-State Honorable Mention after a dynamic 2020 season.

Led by Winter, the Lady Spartans finished second overall in the highly competitive Region 12 division. Finishing 8-2 in league play, Emery earned a 3-1 win over third place Carbon in a shootout and a 1-0 thrilling victory over the division champion Richfield Wildcats.

Winter posted a team best 14 goals on the season and also led in the assist category with 11. The totals led to her accounting for 25 of the team’s 43 goals on the season.

The soccer season came to a close for Emery in the second as they suffered a shutout loss to the Grantsville Cowboys.

The 3A All-State teams are voted on by coaches throughout the classification.
