The Carbon Lady Dinos opened the 2016 soccer season with a 3-2 loss on the road against South Sevier in Monroe.

Trailing 1-0 at the end of the first half, the Lady Dinos managed to stay within striking distance as Elley Cardell and Kelsey Sorenson both scored one goal. South Sevier managed to match Carbon’s second half total as they earned the win to improve to 2-0.

Allie Ramage, Kaylie Jenson and Kiersten Pearson all scored one goal for South Sevier, earning their second win after opening the season with a 1-0 victor over North Sevier last week.

Tuesday was the first of seven non-region games for the Lady Dinos, and their first of two straight road games to open up the season. Carbon will next travel to Moab for a meeting with the Grand Red Devils on Thursday.

The first home game of the season will take place on Friday when Carbon welcomes in North Sevier for a 3:30 pm start time.
