There is an online auction taking place for 4-year-old Sammy Behn who was recently diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) which is a form of cancer. Valorie Marrietti has organized this online auction to help the family during this difficult time. She took time to come into Castle Country Radio to explains all the details of the event.
“You know that I personally have been in this situation and I know how hard it can be financially. Of course, it’s difficult in every way, but it can ruin a family financially so I’m helping right now with an online auction just on Facebook. We are still taking donations. We’ve got all kinds of stuff. If you want to visit my Facebook page it’s called Battle with the Behns Online Auction. Behn is spelled B-E-H-N. You can go to my personal Facebook page and there are several posts on there or give me a call if you need to, my number is 435-820-8384,” stated Marrietti. If you get on either Facebook page you will see various gift baskets that have been put together and donated by several community members and businesses.
“The family does have a Venmo so if you do not want to purchase anything off the auction you can just Venmo them directly. Its Julie-Maxwell-Behn, once again spelled B-E-H-N. There’s a GoFundMe account that was set up by Chris Polito, Sammy’s Fight Against Cancer. If you are not comfortable donating online please stop by my business and I would be happy to take a donation and get that to the family,” said Marrietti. “So he had a little bump in his cheek and back in December he was diagnosed with a soft tissue cancer. It’s got this huge long name they call it RMS. He did get a port placed. He has started chemo. Of course, this was the last week of December so when all of us were taking down our tree and that kind of stuff, they’re up at Primary Children’s trying to fight this. So yea, we need to help this family,” said Marrietti. Organizers have plans to host several monthly fundraisers throughout the year so keep an eye out for those.
