Until last Friday night the Pinnacle Panthers basketball team had lost six in a row. Coming off of a much needed win over Merit Preparatory. The Panthers had the weekend off and then were back on the road Monday, taking on the Wendover Wildcats. Pinnacle ran with the Wildcats until the fourth quarter but would eventually fall in this one 56-42.

The game was back and forth in the first two quarters with Pinnacle going in to the locker room at the half down by seven. The Wildcats would build that lead to nine after three and then would go on to hold the Panthers to just five points in the final quarter, ultimately losing by 14 points.

Leading the way for Wendover was Jamie Motalvo, who scored a game high 21 points. Jostyn Gomez would chip in with seven and Keyshawn Rodriguez and Pedro Alvarez each added six.The Wildcats are 13-5 and are tied atop the 1A ranks with Mount Vernon. They are also winners of their last eight games.

For the Panthers Dominic Gutierrez dropped in 11 points while Christian Winder scored 10 while grabbing eight rebounds and Mikey Vigil had nine while pulling down four rebounds and dishing out four assists.

The remainder of the week will be games scheduled with Tabiona and Green River and are both on the road. The Game at Green River will wrap up the regular season for Pinnacle.

The Panthers are sitting at 6-10 and are finishing up the final week of the regular season. On Sunday the final RPI rankings will come out and then on February 25 the 1A State Championship Tournament will begin at home sites with the semi-finals taking place at the Sevier Valley Center on the Snow College Richfield Campus on March 4.
