There are fun things taking place in Ferron City and Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Mayor Adele Justice about the Open House held at the Fire Department, St. Patrick’s Day events and Easter Egg Hunt.
The city recently held an Open House at the Fire Department on February 23 where the public was welcomed to come see the facility and meet the first responders. “So we are so proud of our first responders and so thankful to have them here in our community. We have some new fire department members and have restructured our fire department so we wanted to give the community opportunity to come out meet some of the new fire department members and EMTs and thank them for what they do for our community,” said Mayor Justice. This was a nice small informal event to show the first responders the community’s appreciation for all their hard work.
St Patrick’s Day events are going to be hosted all month long where community members can share their Irish celebrations on the city’s Facebook page. “So they would submit, we’re asking for folklore, they can dance a gig if they want, film and send it in to our Facebook page, we’re also looking for superstitions. The Irish people have so much fun in their culture and so this is our way to just kind of learn about the Irish Culture and have some fun,” stated Mayor Justice. Details of the city’s Irish activities and events will be listed on the city’s Facebook page in the next week or so.
On March 27 the city will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza for all the children in the community. “We are going to have our Eggstravaganza at the Mayor’s Park from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on the 27th of March, it’s a Saturday. We’ll have some sloppy joes, chips to hand out if you’re hungry. We’ll have some games for the kids to play. The Easter Bunny will be there and as Ferron tradition he will be handing out prizes to all the kids that are in attendance,” explained Mayor Justice. The city is looking forward to seeing all the children in the community come out for this fun event.
