The USU Extension Office is excited to be bringing a couple of new courses to the area and Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with the organizers to talk about all the details of the Babysitting Camp 101 and “I Can Do It” Club.

The Babysitting Camp 101 will be offered on April 13, 20 and 27 at 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. This camp will teach you everything you need to know about babysitting. “So there is a $5.00 fee for the club its just to get the kit for all the activities that we have. They are going to learn to make playdoh and to make a bunny, it helps when kids are hurt. There’s also going to be information about emergencies, and what to do in that, there’s also some fun games and activities they can do,” said 4-H Aide, Mariah Morley. This club is available for anyone ages 8 years and up and space is limited.

Another great course coming up is the “I Can Do It” Club, this is bring offered again and helps to build resilience. “There is no fees for this 4-H club which is great. So the kids just come and we talk all about resilience and coping skills and how to get through all the problems we face in life. Not only learn those skills but also creative fun activities that they can do while going through hard times. We make a little glitter jar that they learn how to do meditation and mindfulness activities with. We also make a stress relief kit which is also really great for them. One of the biggest things that we do is create a mindfulness and resilience play list,” said Health & Wellness Intern, Emma Campbell. The free course will be offered to ages 10 to 14 years of age with limited space available. It will be offered the first, third and fourth Monday beginning March 1 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The 4-H Classroom in located at 751 East 100 North Suite #1700 in Price.
