The Carbon Dinos baseball team will be ready for spring break when it arrives next week. The Dinos are scheduled to play seven games this week and on Wednesday the faced South Sevier for the second time in as many days. On Tuesday they defeated the Rams 7-1 in Monroe, the venue would change on Wednesday but the result was the same as the Dinos took the 11-4 win in Price.

Carbon pushed their record to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in Region 12 play. Carbon has not lost a game since March 9, the first game of the season against Payson.

The Rams would get on the board first scoring two runs in the top of the first however, the Dinos would tie the score going into inning number two on a Keaton Rich double scoring Rylan Hart and then later in the inning Jordan Fossat would bring Rich home with a single to left. Carbon would take a 4-3 lead on a Hart single to third driving in Derick Robison.

The Dinos would add another run in the bottom of the fourth but it was the fifth inning when the offense would hit it’s stride scoring six runs on five hits and an error. Robison would get it started with a pop fly to second which allowed Wyatt Falk to score. In the next at bat Ridge Nielsen would drive in Cooper Schade on a single to left, after a pitching change for South Sevier, a Hart double brought home Robison and Chet Anderson. Hart would then score on a Rich single to left and would then score on a passed ball making the score 11-3. Carbon would allow one more run to the Rams, but secured the victory.

Rylan Hart had three RBIs for the Dinos on two hits and scored two runs. Derick Robison and Keaton Rich both turned in a two RBI performance as Carbon combined for 13 hits and nine RBIs with just four strikeouts.

On the mound for the Dinos Jordan Fossat would get the start and the win, going four innings giving up two earned runs and striking out eight. Colton Lowe and Kade Dimick would come in from the bullpen combining for 2 runs and two strikeouts and allowed two hits.

The Dinos are in Southern Utah playing a double header Thursday with Cedar and then will travel to St. George for a weekend tournament.
