Emery High School juniors Tambrie Tuttle and Baylee Jacobson earned 3A All-State basketball selections for the 2020-21 season following a vote from coaches in the classification. Fellow junior Addie Lester and sophomore Tatum Tanner received Honorable Mentions.

Tuttle garnered a 3A All-State First Team selection after leading the Spartans in scoring and rebounds. Averaging 13 points and seven boards per game, Tuttle was efficient from the field all season long as she connected on 41-percent of her shot attempts.

Tuttle’s season-high came on Jan. 7 as she poured in 24 points to lead Emery past Richfield 46-34. She managed to score 20 or more on five separate occasions throughout the season.

Jacobson was also tabbed as a member of the 3A All-State First Team as she averaged over 10 points and three steals per game. Finishing second on the team in three-point shots made, Jacobson hit 33-percent of her attempts from beyond the arc.

As the season went on Jacobson appeared to get stronger on both sides of the ball. She managed to reach double-figures in three of the team’s four state tournament games, including a 20 point performance in the 3A State Championship against Morgan.

Lester received the Honorable Mention after leading the Spartans at the point guard position throughout the 2020-21 campaign. A consistent back court weapon throughout the season, Lester averaged eight points, three assists and two steals per game.

Despite missing six games early in the season, Tanner returned and made an immediate impact to earn her Honorable Mention. The sophomore saw a drastic increase in playing time at the varsity level and went on to average nine points, five rebounds and one block per game.

Emery finished the 2020-21 season with a record of 16-5 overall and 9-1 in Region 12 play. A win over South Sevier at home clinched the division crown and gave the Lady Spartans the No. 2 seed heading into the 3A State Tournament. The season came to an end with a four-point loss to the Morgan Trojans in the championship contest.
