Richard “Rick/Cornbred” Alan Hodges, age 62, died unexpectedly on April 14, 2021 at Pinnace Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born September 7, 1959 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, the first-born son of Charles and Patricia Henderson Hodges.

Rick married Kayla Cook and had two beautiful daughters, Jordan and Jamie; they later divorced.

Rick was known for talking about his two daughters every chance he got, and making sure everyone knew how much he loved them and wished they all lived closer to each other.

After moving to price in 2005 he met his love on December 29, 2010 and was quickly married three short weeks later.  He always said God told him to marry her.

Rick was a Duncan, Oklahoma police officer for 20 years before retiring.  After that he owned and operated his own successful landscaping business.  When he moved to Price he became a long haul trucker and loved the freedom he had to see and enjoy the beauty of our nation.  He also rode for many years with the Banditos.  This is where he earned the nickname Cornbred.  He was a true biker at heart.  In his lifetime he owned and rode over 70 Harley’s.  Rick loved being a granpa and it broke his heart that he never got to meet his granddaughter in person.  He loved talking on the phone and facetiming with Eastyn and Bretli, and there was a special place in his heart for Charlotte, his little buddy.  But all of his grandchildren were special to him.  Rick became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2017, this was important to him.  He took his calling to join the church very seriously.  He was a Godly man, and could quote the bible or recite a scripture at the drop of a hat.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived by his wife, Mekette Hodges, Price; mother, Pat Dickie; brother, Randy Hodges; daughters, Jordan (Chance) Casteel, Jamie Hodges, all of Oklahoma; step children, Natalie (Devin) Bigelow, Matthew Konakis, Tyler Konakis, Dustin Konakis; mother-in-law, Leslie Keele, all of Price; eight grandchildren, Shalee, Brindi, Destiny, Brendin “Buddy”, Eastyn, Bretli, Maurlie, Charlotte; two great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his loving grandparents; his dad, Charles Hodges; father-in-law, Fred Keele.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Shane Gagon, Community Nurshing Services, Mike Gagon, and the staff at Pinnacle Nursing and Rehabilitation for all the care and thoughtfulness shown to Rick; a special thank you to all of his brothers at church; you guys were family to him and he loved you all.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
