The Miss Carbon County organization has extended the deadline for young women ages 17 to 24 years old to apply for the pageant scheduled on Saturday, October 22. This is a remarkable opportunity for young ladies in the Carbon County area to represent their community in a positive manner.

Miss Carbon County 2016, Aajah Brienholt spoke about her experience, “I think I have just grown so much personally in multiple different aspects with public speaking and getting myself out there. I think that it will prepare me in the future for job interviews because you interview at pageants. Also I’ve become a better version of myself because of having this title.”  The newly crowned Miss Carbon County 2017 will be given the once in a life time opportunity to represent the county at the Miss Utah pageant in June 2017.

Brienholt had some wise words for individuals thinking about competing in this year’s pageant, “It has to be something you want. If you want to be Miss Carbon County just do it, we will help you get there, we will help you be prepared. We have workshops every Tuesday and Thursday with the contestants to go over interview, walking patterns. If you want to do it, we will make it happen.” Contestants will be judged on the following categories interview, swimwear, talent, on-stage question and evening gown.

Winners of this year’s pageant will be awarded prizes and scholarships. “Part of your prize package if you do win Miss Carbon County is a $2,000.00 scholarship not only to USU Eastern; but that’s something that helped me a lot is the scholarship money. It is a scholarship pageant the same thing at Miss Utah you can win scholarships for all sorts of things not just winning and also the attendants get scholarships as well,” stated Brienholt.
