The USU Eastern women’s soccer team jumped one spot in the latest NJCAA Top 20 poll, landing at No. 17 Monday afternoon.

Back-to-back wins over Colorado Northwestern Community College improved the Lady Eagles overall record to 6-1 on the season, while moving its conference record to 5-1. USU Eastern dominated both outings winning the first 21-0 on Thursday, followed by an 8-0 victory on Saturday.

Ashley Brindley and Mackenzee Brough both registered hat tricks in Thursday’s high scoring affair. The 21 goal team effort is the highest single game output in program history.

The Scenic West Athletic Conference continues to be well represented in the national poll. Salt Lake Community College climbed two spots to No. 5, while Snow College dropped one spot to No. 7.

Only four games remain on the regular season slate for the Lady Eagles ahead of the SWAC Tournament. Up next will be a home contest with Salt Lake, the second of the season. The first meeting brought high drama as Salt Lake found the back of the net in the 63rd minute to secure a 2-1 victory.

USU Eastern will wrap up the week of play on Saturday with the final home game of the season against Truckee Meadows at 11:00 a.m..
