Carbon High School senior softball players Lyndsey Madrigal and Brooke Moosman have both been named members of the 3A All-State First Team, leading six All-State selections for the program.

Establishing herself as one of the premiere high school players in the state, Madrigal led 3A with a .728 batting average over 25 games. Leading the Lady Dinos in nearly every offensive statistical category, Madrigal hit 17 home runs, 17 doubles and three triples. She also ended with 60 RBIs and a .780 on-base percentage.

Moosman earned First Team All-State honors as a standout at the plate and on the pitcher’s mound. Gathering an 11-1 record as a starter, Moosman finished with a team low 2.79 ERA. In the batter’s box she recorded a .507 average, while finishing third on the team in RBIs with 26 and first in singles with 31.

Mollie Horsley and Haven Byerly also received All-State nods as both were named to the Second Team. Makaylya Scovill and Gianna Bruno both received honorable mentions.

Horsley ended her junior campaign with a .432 average in the box, to go along with a .570 OBP. A massive threat to opposing teams while on base, Horsley ended second on the team in runs scored with 39.

Byerly pitched a team-high 76 innings as she finished with a 5-4 record overall. Ending her sophomore season with a 3.77 ERA, she fanned 123 batters while walking just 35. Offensively Byerly hit three home runs and hit .403 for the season.

Scovill received an honorable mention after posting a .485 batting average to go along with five doubles and two home runs. Bruno joins Scovill on the list after hitting .439 with a .516 OBP and six home runs.

The 3A All-State teams were selected by each of the coaches in the classification.
