Our angelic mother and grandmother left to be with the Lord on June 24, 2021. She was 92 years young.

She was born to Epitacio and Juanita Nava on December 1,1928 in Bacca, New Mexico. She married Ray Sandoval on April 24, 1946 in Sunnyside, Utah and they raised four children. He died September 4, 2009.

Her passion in life were her children and grandchildren and the sacrifice she made for them was nonpareil.  A very happy and cheerful individual whose zest for life with all whom she encountered in or outside the family was truly contagious. Her signature in life was her restaurant in Price (Luitos) where the community enjoyed all of the amazing Mexican food she would make, and many years later was still taking orders into her late 80s. To many friends outside the family, she was Grandma. She touched the hearts of thousands.

Our Grandma was a high spirited, fun loving, courageous and a hard-working person whom cared deeply for people and animals. She loved cooking and playing slot machines wherever they might be and she was amazing at both. Her legacy is her unconditional love for her family and friends. We are saddened by our loss but truly grateful for the love she gave us all. Yes mother you soared like the wings of an eagle.

She is survived by her son Louis (Cyndee) Sandoval, Price, Utah; son Eddie (Vicky Rodriguez), Sandoval, Billings, Montana, and Annette Sandoval, Price, Utah; brother Herman Nava, Price, Utah; sister Alice McDonald, Salt Lake City, Utah; sister in-law and best friend, Dolores Sandoval, Price, Utah; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Amy) Sandoval; Greg Sandoval; Tony (Candie) Sandoval, Keith (Marinela) Sandoval; Eric Sandoval; Chelsea (Chris) Pierce; Shannon (Paul) Bentley; Natalie Sandoval; 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her fur baby Buffy Lynn.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, daughter Charlotte, grandson Keith John, Father Epitacio Nava, Mother, Juanita Nava, and brother Joe Nava.

Special thanks to all who enjoyed our mother/grandmother in her lifetime. At the family’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, we ask that friends and loved ones find time to visit a casino when they are able, and gamble a dollar or two in her honor. When you feel that jackpot adrenaline rush when you win, she will be there.   Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
