dinner

The First Annual Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation Fundraising Dinner will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 5:00 pm. This dinner is to help out the non-profit organization with funds to run their program. Director, Debbie Pappas stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the details.

“We have been fortunate enough to have somebody willing to set this up for us and it’s called an Escoffier dinner, it’s a French dinner and this will consist of seven courses and that includes two wines so their will be dinner wine and a dessert wine,” explained Pappas. The cost to attend the dinner is $100.00 per person, the reception will begin at 5:00 pm, with the seated dinner set for 5:30 pm and this is business casual attire.

This event will be held at the Carbon Country Club located at 3055 North Highway 6. “The seating is very limited because of how these dinners are put together and served. The chef out there is very excited to be doing something different and has been very active in participating what is going to be served and how it’s going to be served. So we are requiring reservations simple because the seating is limited,” stated Pappas. Those individuals interested in attending the fundraising dinner can contact Pappas at (435) 650-3441 or text (801) 673-1556 to make reservations.

The organization is a non-profit, charitable organization and relies heavily on donations and volunteers. “So Second Chance Wildlife is a facility, and there are several around the state that take in that State of Utah’s injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife. They think that the Division of Wildlife does this but they do not. So we’ve stepped up to it and built facilities to meet federal and state guidelines and beyond,” explained Pappas.  Funds are needed to assist with housing, food, medical supplies, veterinarian expenses, transportation and minor administration costs.
