It’s time once again for another Helper’s First Friday event for the month of August and this month’s theme is Carnival. All the activities and events will be geared around the theme taking place on Friday, August 6 on Helper’s Historic Main Street.

This month’s event is being sponsored by Timeless Art who will have several carnival booths set up for the children. “Timeless Art is going to have some booths specifically; the tickets are going to be $1.00 each for the booth. We’re going to do ax throwing for the kids, bow and arrow target shooting for kids, ducks in a pool, we’re going to do tattoos for everybody, and then handing out stickers as well. Lots of fun stuff going on there,” said Representative, Morgan Hernandez. Timeless Art will also feature some delicious food items for sale such as sausage on a stick, corn on a stick, fruit cups, giant pickles. The event kicks off at 6:00 pm and runs through till 9:00 pm.

Most of the different galleries and merchants along Main Street will feature various carnival games too. “Oh its going to be a blast. We’re going to have a bunch of different carnival booths, tickets for these will be a $1.00 as well. We’ll do henna tattoos, bounce house, Party Express balloon animals, there’s going to be Dungeon and Dragons games, and then contest for the Best Bearded Lady, so that’s going to be really fun,” stated Hernandez. The Best Bearded Lady contest will run from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and signups are at the Main Street Park Gazebo. First place prize is a customized Igloo Cooler donated by Cal and Lisa from Liquor Store and customized by Canvas Alchemy.

There will be live entertainment taking place with the band Super Cover taking the Main Street Park stage at 6:00 pm. There will also be a fire breathing performance by Blanka at 7:00 pm, then again when it gets dark. The entertainment is sponsored by Driggs Mortgage Team, with sound provided by West Coast Show.
