After starting the season 0-3, the Emery Lady Spartan soccer team got back on the field on Tuesday in Gunnison to face the Bullldogs. Seemingly scoring at will and pitching a shutout the Spartans put it all together in their 6-0 win.
Coming off two losses last weekend, Emery was eager to get in the win column early in the season.
Starting early, the Spartans put three goals on board in the first half and three more in the second half coming off the foot of six different players.
Seniors Kaydee Sermon, Tenyson Allred and Aspen Hansen as well as juniors BreElle Parkins and Beka Barnett along with sophomore Madi Bunnell all found the back of the net for the Spartans in this much needed win.
In goal for Emery was sophomore Alivia Christman, earning her first shutout of the season.
Next up for the Spartans is a road trip to Parowan to face the Rams who finished last season at 12-5, losing to eventual 2A State Champion Rowland Hall-St. Marks in the semi-finals.
After the match with Parowan, Emery will take to their home field for the first time this season on Tuesday when North Sanpete comes to Castle Dale. Game time is set at 4 p.m..
