
The Lady Dino soccer squad was on the road for it’s second match of the season in Mount Pleasant to face the North Sanpete Hawks on Thursday. Coming off a 2-1 overtime win against Union, Carbon was looking to keep the streak going. At the end of the match they were on the wrong end of the 2-0 score.
These two teams faced off last season in the second round of the 3A State Championships,and it was Carbon coming away with a 1-0 victory.
The first half was relatively quiet as the teams would head to the locker room in a scoreless tie.
In the second half North Sanpete’s Adelay Stavros and Adelaide Johansen both found the back of the net. In goal for the Hawks Eryn Briggs was credited with the shutout.
For the Dinos Emma Flemmet had 12 saves in the game, bringing her season total to 24.
Originally Carbon had scheduled their home opener with Millard for Tuesday. Millard was unable to secure a bus so that game was rescheduled for August 31. The Dinos will welcome the Juab Wasps to Price on Thursday, this will be the first home game of the season and will take place on the soccer field at Carbon High at 4 p.m..
