Lady Spartans soccer has been back on the field for almost two weeks playing in a tournament to open the season, and they have yet to play at home. On Thursday they were in Parowan to take on the Rams. Unable to find offense the Spartans fell in the game 7-0.
The Spartans sit at 1-4 on the season. With the exception of the contest with Gunnison Valley in which Emery came away with the win, the Spartans have only managed to score one goal in their four losses.
The Rams jumped out to a 3-0 first half lead and continued their offensive display in the second scoring four more.
Karlee Wood found the back of the net three times and Maycee Andersen twice for the Rams. Deanna Gale and Brynlee Andersen filled out the rest of Parowan’s score sheet. Junior Brooklyn Hulet posted the shutout.
The Emery Spartans will now welcome in North Sanpete on Tuesday. Assistant coach Erik Nielsen knows how important home games are for this team.
“To be able to have a game at home, come out to the field and relax, have some fans there. That’s fun, that feels like we’re really underway once you get that home game in.”
Game time with North Sanpete will take place at 4 p.m..
