The Price City Library recently wrapped up their Summer Reading Program and are looking forward to bringing in some new activities for the Fall months. Library Coordinator, Tonya Kulow was able to speak over the telephone with Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.
“We just finished our Summer Reading Program and it was awesome. It was well attended, even though with the COVID restrictions we had going it was well attended. I think the children did really well, they loved reading,” stated Kulow. Library officials felt as though the extra help with summer reading assisted students to stay on track for the upcoming school year.
Story Time is still taking place for toddlers in the area on Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:00 am. “We tell stories, we have a theme, we do activities, and we also have the crafts, but right now with the COVID restrictions we are sending the crafts home and they can finish the crafts at their home,” said Kulow. There are extra crafts activities from past weeks that the library has on hand so toddlers can pick up an extra craft item by visiting the front desk.
There are some pretty interesting activities coming up that are new for patrons. “We have Lego free – free play that we’re going to do and it will be on Mondays. We haven’t quite figured a time but we thought it was a good time since the children get out of school early. We’re also looking into a Senior Adult Coloring Program that they can come and I believe that was going to be on Thursdays,” said Kulow. This will allow for adults to interact with one another while relaxing and enjoying a coloring activity.
The library offers many services to their customers as Kulow explains, “We have computers here that the patrons can use. They can print off our computers, it’s $.10 cents a sheet to print. We offer faxing also but there is a small cost with that. We have a wonderful, I think, selection of books, fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, junior books, we have them all. We have audio books; we have a great selection of those and also DVDs.” To utilize these services, stop by the Price City Library located at 159 East Main Street or call them at (435) 636-3188.
