Our kind and loving father, grandfather and friend, George Edward Burnham, age 94, passed peacefully on August 30, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.

Ed was born July 21, 1927, in Red Mesa, Colorado to James Warren and Edith Adell Wheeler Burnham.  He was the seventh of eight children. When he was 17 years old, he willingly volunteered in the US Navy during WWII. He married Shirley Mae Millward. That union produced three children: Robert, James and Sharon. They later divorced. He then married Kathryn Moffitt on July 23, 1957, and later was sealed in the Manti temple and were blessed with seven children.

Ed worked very hard throughout his life to provide for his family. He worked for Carbon County, Utah as a TV translator station technician and later worked as a contractor for the US Postal Service delivering mail to Scofield, Clear Creek and Kenilworth, Utah.

He had many hobbies, which included being a private pilot and an expert in building and flying RC aircraft. Through this hobby, he introduced many to the love of aviation. The members of the local flying club could always turn to him for advice and help. His children knew if you needed something mechanical or help to repair anything you could always count on him.

Ed was an accomplished harmonica player and regularly performed at the Senior Center and community events. He was a member of the local Lions Club where he served often in the community. He loved the outdoors and took his children and grandchildren fishing, camping and boating often.

He loved helping others and served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He and Kathryn served in the Manti temple where they treasured that time together.

Ed is survived by his daughters, Linda Burrows, Salt Lake City, UT, Conni Burnham, Rupert, ID, Lisa (Gary) Stokes, Wellsville, UT, JoRetta (Shaun) Vanderlinden, Rupert, ID; sons, David (Karen) Burnham, Lehi, UT, Gary (Charlene) Burnham, Helper, UT, Kelly (Christy) Burnham, Cameron, OK; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
