
On Tuesday the Lady Dino tennis team was on the road to take on Grand County and San Juan. Carbon was no match for either squad as they swept both 5-0.
In the first matches of the day the Dinos faced the Grand County Red Devils. Carbon won all individual matches 5-0 in straight sets. Lindsey Snow 6-0, 6-0 in first singles. In second singles Lieke Verweij took her sets 6-0 and 6-1 and in third singles it was Lizzy Blackburn with the 6-2 and 6-0 win.
The first doubles team of Kaydance Scovill and Laurie Parry earned the 6-2, 6-0 win and in second singles Alysssa Ellis and Ella Anderson grabbed the win 6-2 and 6-0.
Up next it was the San Juan Broncos, and even though the opponent changed the result did not with Carbon winning every match in straight sets taking the 5-0 victory. Once again in first singles, Snow did not drop a game winning 6-0, 6-0. Verweij took the 6-0,6-1 win in her second singles match-up. Blackburn took the straight set win 6-0, 6-0 in third singles.
In doubles action, the team of Scovill and Parry claimed another win 6-0,6-0. And in the second single match with Ellis and Anderson they were up 5-0 in the first set when the opposing team had to retire due to one of the players being hit in the mouth by a tennis ball.
The Dinos are at home on Thursday to face Gunnison and will then welcome Millard on Tuesday.
