Trevin Wakefield tied for second individually as the Emery Spartans gathered a third place finish Thursday afternoon at the Green River Course in a Region 12 competition.
A week after shooting the lowest team score in three years, the Spartans delivered a solid 342. Richfield continued to expand its lead at the top of the standings with a 312, followed by Carbon at 321. Canyon View rounded out the field of four.
Wakefield finished tied with Richfield’s Keaton Anderson and Canyon View’s Jack Vickers for second individually with a 77. Carbon’s Bode Salas edged the competition with a meet low 76.
Kavery Killpack was second on the Spartans with an 83. Joey Leonard was the team’s third score at 90 and the fourth went to Kade Larsen’s 92.
Thursday’s meet was originally scheduled to take place at Millsite in Ferron. Due to course conditions the meet was moved to Green River, which is a nine hole course. Each of the four teams played twice through to gather the final scores.
Only three meets remain in the season before the 3A State Championship on October 6 and 7. The region season will continue on Thursday, Sept. 16 at Palisades.
