Carbon Dinos tennis is almost at the end of their season, with just three more matches left before the Regional Tournament in Monroe next weekend. Last Thursday they traveled to Castle Dale to face the Spartans and returned with the 5-0 victory.

The Lady Dinos have been more up than down this season, and the match at Emery was definitely up for them. Winning all matches in a perfect sweep, they will push their way through this week with three matches on the schedule.

At Emery, all matches were won in straight sets starting with Lindsay Snow’s first singles match with Paige Cox 6-0 and 6-0. Second singles Lieke Verweij defeated Saige Laws 6-2 and 6-1 and in Lizzy Blackburn’s third singles contest with Ambria Mogliori, Blackburn walked away with the 6-0, 6-1 win.

In doubles play the first team of Kaydance Scovill and Laurie Parry took the win in their match against Aspen Taylor and Brooklyn Ekker 6-2 and 6-1. The second team that consisted of Alyssa Ellis and Ella Anderson beat the team of Danika Farley and Chloe Wagner 6-1 and 6-0.

The Dinos will wrap up the season this week with three matches on the road.

On Tuesday they will be in Monroe to face South Sevier in the morning and then in the afternoon they will be in Richfield to face the Wildcats. They will then take Wednesday off and head back on the road Thursday to Cedar City to face Canyon View.

As for the Spartans they will be on the road on Tuesday in Cedar City to face Canyon View and then they will wrap up the season on Thursday at home for Gunnison.

The Region 12 Tournament will be in Monroe on October 1st and the State Tournament will be held Oct. 7-9 at Liberty Park.
