Our beloved dad, grandpa and husband, James F. Pugliese, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the age of 93.

Jim was born to Frank and Amy Angell Pugliese on October 27, 1927 in Rolapp, Utah.  He had two sisters and one brother, who have all preceded him in death.

Jim was proud to have served on the Helper City Fire Department for 37 years, and as Fire Chief for 31 years.  He also served on the Rescue 3 team as the operator of the “jaws of life”, and is credited with many lifesaving rescues.

He married Pauline Tamietti and together they had four children.  Pauline preceded Jim in death in 1992.  In 1994, Jim married Jesselyn Nelson.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Jesselyn and her children, Richard Jensen of Helper and Kristy (Gene) Freeman of West Jordan.  Jim is also survived by three of his children, Paul (Cathy) Pugliese of Price, Jim (Georgeann) Pugliese of St. George, Bernadette (Brad) Child of Price.  Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda (Finley) Jones of Delaware.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per Jim’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.  Friends and family wishing to sign a memorial book may do so at Mitchell Funeral Home and are always welcome daily.

Jim loved to fish.  Fishing with Pauline at Scofield when his kids were young, Strawberry reservoir with Jesselyn, Lake Powell catching striped Bass with his sons, and in Alaska catching halibut.  Rest in peace, dad, we hope you are catching the big ones in heaven.

Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
