The Emery Spartans continued the cross country season with a trip to Fairview for the Sanpete Invitational Wednesday afternoon.

Competing against 22 schools, the Emery boy’s team finished 180 points, placing them sixth overall. The girl’s team participated, but only on an individual basis.

Camdon Larsen was the top placing Emery runner as he finished with a time of 17.24.5. Merritt Meccariello also delivered a top 30 time as he finished 29th after crossing at 17:38.3. Jack Christiansen, Dillon Larsen and Byron Christiansen rounded out the field for the Spartans.

Junior Kallee Cook led the way for the competing Lady Spartans as she ended 46th overall with a time of 21:52.8. Kylee Willis finished 67th, while Kallee Lake and Kadrianne Bird finished 71st and 87th respectively.

Only three meets remain in the cross country season before the 3A State Championship on Oct. 27. Emery will next play host to a competition on Wednesday before heading to Manti on Oct. 11. The region finale will follow Oct. 20.
