Carbon High School senior Kobe Cruz and sophomore Beverly Lancaster continued to dazzle as the cross country season continued in Fairview at the Sanpete Invitational Wednesday afternoon.

Both Cruz and Lancaster finished third to lead both the Carbon boys and girls to third and fourth place finishes respectively. The boy’s side of the meet featured 22 teams, while the girls competed against 10 other schools.

Cruz completed the course in 15:59.0. Paul Bryner was second on the team at 16:58.1 for a 16th place finish, followed by Garrett Black in 26th. Braxton Ware and Nathan Engar registered the final two places to give Carbon it’s total of 112 points.

Lancaster paced the Lady Dinos with a finishing time of 19:08.6. Ambree Jones was 12th overall as she ended in 19:50.8, followed by Ada Bradford’s 34th place finish. Ellie Hanson and Lindsie Fausett were the final two times for the Lady Dinos.

Carbon will next compete at Emery High School’s competition, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 6. The region and state championship meets will follow on Oct. 20 and 27.
