The annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 11 at 11:00 am at the Price City Peace Garden at 185 East Main Street. The special day of observance will begin with a short walk at 10:00 am from 300 East Main to the Price City Peace Garden.

“On Veteran’s Day we’re going to have a Veteran’s Walk so we hope people will come out and cheer their Veterans. That will begin at 300 East and Main Street and the Veterans will have a short walk to the Peace Garden along Main Street, that’s starts at 10:00 am. At 11:00 am we’re going to do the ceremony, we’ll have someone sing the National Anthem, and we’ll start with What is Veterans Day? and then to speak about the Unknown American Soldier, a little more in detail,” stated Event Representative, David Jellin. All Veterans, of all branches during all periods of conflict and in between, whether or not a member of a Veterans group is welcome to join the walk. If possible, Veterans are asked to please wear their service uniforms.

Following the ceremony, there will be information shared about the VA Price Clinic. “We’re going to have an update for the VA Price Clinic which is here. There’s a lot of rumors, and bad news, but we do have some good news. We have some information from the sources about what is occurring and what will be the plan for staffing for the clinic,” explained Jellin. The shared information should help answer any questions that Veterans may have.

USU-Eastern is sponsoring a breakfast for those Veterans who are participating in the event. “We’re getting a little support from the university, USU-Eastern is decided to provide some breakfast burritos, coffee and cookies beginning at about 8:30 am – 9:00 am for those who are Veterans and their families. So we’ve got some community support on that,” said Jellin.

All Castle Country residents’ young and old are encouraged to attend this special ceremony to show all local Veterans that they are appreciated for their willingness to serve, as well as, to celebrate their bravery and sacrifices. For questions about the event please call American Legion Post 3 at (435) 630-8474.
