Dell L. Cloward, age 79, passed away October 3, 2016 while surrounded by his family in Price.
He was born May 11, 1937 in Price, Utah to Charles Edward and Lillie Elizabeth Nielson Cloward.
Dell grew up in Orem, Utah where he attended local schools. On June 3, 1957 he married Mary Jane Carter in Evanston, Wyoming.
Dell was a longtime resident of Carbon County who loved working construction most of his life. He was a tireless worker who eventually retired from Price City. Dell enjoyed volunteering at the Carbon County Food Bank and he was always willing to help anyone in need. Dell and his sons were instrumental in starting the community garden and building and operating the driving range at the golf course. His work ethic and generosity will be sorely missed by all.
Dell is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Connie Brotherson, Rick (Leisa) Cloward, Shawn Cloward & Blue, Darren (Heather) Cloward, Kevin (Heather) Cloward, all of Price; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Zachery; and his brothers, Kendall, LaRon, Doyl, Arthur and Elwood.
Funeral service, Friday, October 7, 2016, 2:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Dell Cloward Memorial Fund, C/O Eastern Utah Community Credit Union.
