The Emery Lady Spartans earned two victories against 4A competition on the road this past weekend after defeating Pineview and Hurricane in St. George Friday and Saturday.

Entering Friday’s contest winners of their last two outings, the Lady Spartans locked down Pineview defensively for a lopsided 47-22 win.

Holding Pineview under seven points in each of the four individual quarters, Emery pulled away with a 15-6 run in the second quarter. The defensive clinic continued in the second half as the Lady Spartans allowed just 10 points over the final two quarters.

Tylee Norton led the way for Emery with 11 points, including one make from the three-point line. Tambrie Tuttle also finished in double figures with 10 points.

While the game was decided on the defensive end of the floor, Emery showed great balance offensively. A total of nine players scored at least one points, while Baylee Jacobson and Brynn Gordon both finished with six. The loss for Pineview was their first in four games this season.

The domination continued into Saturday as Emery once again throttled an upper classification opponent, this time powering past Hurricane 61-28.

Jacobson continued her consistent offensive production as she knocked down four three-point shots on her way to a game-high 19 points.

In similar fashion to Friday, the Lady Spartans stifled Hurricane defensively as they held the Tigers under 10 points in each of the four quarters. The game was never in doubt as Emery gathered a comfortable 32-17 lead by the end of the first half.

Tuttle once again scored 10 points for Emery and Tatum Tanner also scored 10 in the win.
