As the holidays arrive and the year is slowly coming to an end Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Price City Mayor Michael Kourianos to talk about the city’s highlights for the year.
Over the summer the city encouraged residents to watch their water usage and all their hard work paid off. “We are very proud of our citizens what they did with their water usage. We significantly used less water this last summer and you know this next summer we might have to do the same and we know we can depend on the citizens of Price City to do what is needed and so that is a great example and we are very appreciative as a council,” stated Mayor Kourianos. Officials were able to track water conservation at the water plant and could see that folks were cutting back on water usage over the summer months.
There have been some residents that have stepped up to make our little city a great place to live and the city hopes that more residents will step up to the challenge. “Here’s the part that I love, its not only that individual coming up with the idea but who else can we bring to the table that has, you know, other strengths. Price City, I’m telling you, we want to help as a council, as a corporation those things our staff are all on board on wanting to make a difference and help,” stated Mayor Kourianos. The city is always looking for ways to better the community and what better way to do that than to get comments/feedback from its residents.
Overall, the city had a great year and are looking forward to celebrating the holidays. Mayor Kourianos closed his interview with some holiday wishes, “I as the mayor and council, want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We’re just excited that we’re a part of their lives and to make 2022 a great year.” The City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers located at City Hall, 185 East Main Street. The public is invited to attend Council Meetings.
