The Carbon Dinos and Emery Spartans shared the pool at the Emery Aquatic Center in Castle Dale on Tuesday.  The two teams have gone back and forth all season with the Carbon girls chasing their fourth straight 3A State title. Tuesday it would be the Spartans that would reign in Castle Dale with the Lady Spartans taking first place 446-284 and the boys taking the 390-311 win.

The Spartans just came off of a great showing in Richfield where the Lady Spartans claimed the top spot. The boys swam to third place.

For the Emery boys, Jacob Fauver, Kegley Terry and Kade Larsen grabbed the top three spots in the 100 yard free, finishing within three seconds of each other. The team of Terry, Fauver and Dax and Kyler Minchey also claimed first in the 200 yard free relay, turning in a time of 1:42.60.

The Lady Spartans also claimed the top three positions in the 100 yard breast stroke. Allison Johansen and Carley Young finished just two seconds off the pass set by Purity Mason’s time of 1:28.67. And as for relays Sydney Carter, Abby Johansen, Cambrie Jensen and Aubrey Guymon finished in first with a time of 1:57.60 in the 200 yard free.

For Carbon, it was Gabe Ibanez who finished in first place in the boys 200 IM with a time of 2:18.72, finishing in second place was team mate Boyd Bradford.  Bradford and Ibanez along with Tommy Dalpiaz and Dallin Watson earned a first place finish in the 200 medley.

Mia Crompton finished in first in the 200 yard IM on the ladies side of the pool. Crompton and team mates Ada Bradford, Tyrca Jaramillo and Alyssa Chamberlain took first in the 200 medley relay as well.

Up next for Carbon they will host Emery on Dec. 21, and then will be off until after the new year.

And before the Spartans travel to Price, they will head to Payson Thursday the 16.
