Our loving father, grandfather and brother, Scherl Scott Wayman, 67, passed away December 16, 2021 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 6, 1954 in Price, Utah to Leon and Edith Davis Wayman. He married Brenda Lister, May 20, 1989 in Price. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2016.
Scherl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduated from Carbon High School in 1972. Scherl had a deep love for cars, and if he wasn’t turning a wrench on them, then he was often cruising the dealerships in town on Sunday looking for the perfect ride. Scherl worked as a mechanic for Western Coal Carriers for thirty plus years and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Price River Coal Local # 6788.
Scherl enjoyed anything outdoors, especially camping, fishing, hunting and attending his annual Mountain Man Rendezvous in Fort Bridger. He loved leisurely road trips and watching his grandchildren’s extra-curricular activities. Scherl loved his family and his “fur-kids.” He will be deeply missed by his loving family and a community of friends.
He is survived by his brother, Lanny (Paula) Wayman, Carson, NV; three daughters, Kym (Tanner) Christensen, Ferron, Angie (Vance) Turner, Price, Kyra (Ethan) Preston, West Valley City; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Scherl was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Sonny Wayman; sister, Fawn Alexander; and a grandson, Levi Armstrong.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Rick Stockburger and the Symbii Home Health and Hospice Team for the friendship and loving care provided to their father.
