Our beloved son, brother, grandson, longtime friend and exceptional cook, Ian Vance Cook, 34, passed away January 1, 2022 in Castle Dale.

Ian was born August 5, 1987 in Brigham City, Utah to Bret Vance and Monica Leonard Cook.

Ian was an accomplished artist and cook extraordinaire.  He loved painting pastels and cooking for several restaurants in Carbon and Emery Counties.  At the time of his passing, Ian was employed at Fatty’s Pizza & Grill in Castle Dale where he was loved and respected by all.  He loved the outdoors, especially camping and hanging out with family and friends.  Ian touched the lives of many and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ian is survived by his mother, Monica (Brent) Pettit, Springville; a special daughter; grandfathers, Larry Leonard, Price, Merrill Cook, Heber City; nine sisters and four brothers, Raquel (Rory) Crouch, Payson, Camille (Alex) Gerber, Pleasant Grove, Dallin Cook, Georgia, Jillian (Jason) Garner, American Fork, April (Trevor) Henderson, California, Celeste Pettit, Salt Lake City, Estee Pettit, California, Brent Pettit, Jr., Salt Lake City, Sean Pettit, Ogden, Angel Pettit, Lehi, Nuria (Josh) Buis, Arizona, Venevia (Tony) Sanchez, Taylorsville, Eric Pettit, Taylorsville; his loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews whom loved him dearly.

Ian was preceded in death by his father, Bret Vance Cook; and grandmothers, Karen Leonard and Alonna Cook.

Funeral service, Saturday, January 8, 2022, 12:00 noon, Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Interment, Cliffview Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
