The Lady Dinos moved to 9-4 on the year with a decisive 61-47 win over the Union Cougars Tuesday night in Price. Sydney Orth put up 18 points, three rebounds and six steals, in the victory which was the first home game the Lady Dinos have had since November.

The Cougars are probably coming off their biggest win of the year a 53-51 nail biter over the Lady Spartans last Thursday night in Castle Dale. Sitting at 3-10, Union has also registered wins over Altamont and San Juan.  Union holds the No. 14 spot in the UHSAA RPI rankings as well.

The game Tuesday night the Dinos were on top of the Cougars from the beginning outscoring Union 28-19 in the first half, but the third quarter was all Carbon as they held Union to just nine points while scoring 20.

Along with Sydney Orth’s 18, Amiah Timothy scored 11 with three assists and two steals. Madi Orth dropped 10 along with three assists and two steals.

The Lady Dinos, now 9-4 and No. 9 in the UHSAA RPI. Carbon has definitely earned the title “Road Warriors” this season and have earned the right to play a few home games.

Friday night the Dinos will welcome region foe Canyon View to Price.  Canyon View is 6-6 and sitting at No. 11.  They will then face the Richfield Wildcats on Thursday Jan. 13.

Both games are set for a 7:00 tip-off.
