The Price City Youth Council would like to invite the community out for a fundraising event that will benefit the Asian Bistro who’s building suffered a severe fire on January 9. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Youth Council Mayor, Graydee Noyes, Youth Council PR Rep, Madeline Crittle and Price City Mayor Michael Kourianos to discuss all the details of the event.
“So as a Youth Council we’re always trying to make a difference in the community, we want to help out where we can. So every other Monday we meet together and we try to find a way that we can make a difference. It just so happened that this meeting was right after the fire and we decided we could put our efforts towards that,” said YC Mayor Noyes. The fundraising movie event will take place on Saturday, January 29 at 7:00 pm at the Price City Civic Auditorium at 185 East Main Street.
“So it’s a movie night, we’re going to be showing Andrew Garfield’s the Amazing Spider-man. It’s going to start at 7:00 pm and its donation based. But also, if you wanted to donate to the Asian Bistro and their employees, we have a QR code that goes directly to them so you don’t have to go to the event to donate,” said Crittle. Price City Youth Council has set a goal of $5,000.00 and this could be made if all community members can make a small donation. The QR code can be found on the Price City Facebook page. If you are unable to access the QR Code you can stop by Price City Hall to make a donation to the Asian Bistro.
The Price City Council Members, along with the Mayor are excited to be supporting this fundraising event for the Asian Bistro. “As they brainstormed and came up with the idea, so then I reached out to the owners of the Asian Bistro and when I talked with them it touched their hearts and the owner started crying. Then we brought them down to Price and met city hall, and members of the City Council, Youth Council, talked with them and they said this is awesome. They couldn’t come up with the right words on their feelings,” said Mayor Kourianos. It could take up to 10 to 11 months before the insurance company can offer the owners any payment. The owners would like to rebuild and remain in Price but for now they have no income coming in at this time.
