Our caring, witty, artistic, sassy and beautiful Hallie Ann ended her internal suffering in her new-found city of Cedar City, UT after ringing in her 21st birthday. On February 7, 2001, Hallie entered the world never suspecting the impact she would have on everyone who knew her. Her tough exterior was fierce and beautiful. This ensured that only those who were willing to get past her dirty looks and hilarious insults would be welcome in her world. She guarded her heart closely. She had an infallible ability to see both the light and darkness in people, and she would treat them accordingly. If you were lucky enough to get to know Hallie, her kindness, love and compassion made you realize there is still good in the world.
Hallie graduated from Emery High School in the spring of 2019. She was a straight-A student who excelled and found happiness in art. She was Emery High’s 2019 Art Sterling Scholar, and she painted the Spartan mural that is on display in the Spartan Center. In high school, she played soccer and was on the swim team.
Hallie then moved to Cedar City in the fall of 2019 to continue her education at Southern Utah University. After her work as a CNA, she knew she wanted to care for those who couldn’t care for themselves. She was pursuing her nursing degree and was one test away from her EMT certifications. She was working in a care center for those with disabilities at the time of her death.
Apart from art and taking care of others, Hallie’s love for animals was deep and apparent to everyone. She frequently reminded us that she loved animals more than people! She loved animals so much, that she was an Animal Ambassador for SUU. She enjoyed educating others about the uniqueness of each animal. She was also excited to be a new, certified dog sitter!
Her sense of humor, her unshakable loyalty, her compassion and the love she gave will be sorely missed in this world. Those who love her, will never falter in that love for her.
Hallie is survived by her parents, Darshell and Devin LeRoy; brother, Tristen LeRoy; grandparents, Lisa and Hugh Ariotti; grandparents, Beth and Max Lopan; bearded dragon, Tesla; many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-grandparents; and her two special babies, Gabriel and Nora.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Jimmy LeRoy.
