Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Douglas Pehrson, age 77, passed away suddenly on February 12, 2022 at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah.
Doug was born on December 17, 1944, to Evan and Marguerite Pehrson. Doug was a lifelong resident of Monticello. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding ATVs and boating at Lake Powell. Doug always had a passion for sports and loved golfing with his family and friends.
Doug served honorably in the US Army. He attended college at the University of Utah, then started his career as the San Juan County Land Surveyor. He later transitioned to the county road superintendent until he retired after 35 years with San Juan County.
Doug enjoyed retirement, playing as much golf as he could and traveling all over watching his grandkids in their numerous sports activities, which was the highlight of his life. He enjoyed hunting with his kids, grandkids, brothers and nephews. Whether it was a golf match, ball game, fish to catch, or deer and elk to kill, he was there loving every minute. He absolutely loved his family and spending time with them.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Lorla Fossat (Bob); son, Ray Pehrson (Cheryl); siblings, Helen Summers (Paul), Fred Pehrson and Mike Pehrson (Jean); 10 grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Marguerite; sister, Anita Haddaway; brother, James Pehrson; and daughter, Jadie Sparling.
