Ascension St Matthews Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be held on Tuesday, March 1 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the church located on 522 North Homestead Boulevard in Price.

“Well, we’re playing everything from day to day and we decided with the rising COVID here in Carbon County and every place else, that we’re trying to keep people safe. So we took a page out of some of the other churches books and said ok lets try take-out only and drive-by pick-up and so that’s what we’re going to be doing this year,” said an Event Organizer, Pam Adams. Church officials would like to remind guests to access the drive-thru area carefully as there are many neighbors and traffic near the church.

The meal will be cooked by several church members. “The food is the same, it’s all cooked freshly there, it’s pancakes, ham and eggs. It will be in a recyclable, biodegradable container that can be microwaved and the donation for us this year is $5.00 for each meal,” stated Adams. The funding from the event go towards the church’s outreach programs which has assisted many individuals and organization within the community.

“We require people to have tickets for this and the way you can get the tickets is either by calling the office and leaving a message with your phone number and so that we can reach out to you and get the tickets to you. Each meal will require a paid ticket, so that’s a little bit different than we’ve been before,” explains Adams. The suggested donation for the Pancake Supper is $5.00 per person.
