The USU Eastern Geary Event Center presents Loving Van Gogh on Monday, February 28 at 6:30 pm and the entire community is invited to attend. Event Services Coordinator, Braden Nelson stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the details with listeners.
“We’re going to be projecting animated Van Gogh paintings around the entire auditorium of the Geary Event Center. Its going to be really interesting. They’re pretty good at high-definition images so you can actually see the depth of the paint and the details of these paintings and really come to appreciate this art,” stated Nelson. This portion of the show will start at 6:30 pm and run through till 7:00 pm at which time a movie will be shown of Van Gogh paintings.
A movie entitled Loving Vincent will begin at 7:00 pm in the newly renovated Geary Theatre. “Years ago, when they made the film they assembled a team, a couple dozen people that were trained in Vincent Van Gogh style and each and every frame of the movie is hand-painted in his style. It was very labor-intensive, hundreds of different paintings, all unique and it comes together to be a beautiful, beautiful film,” stated Nelson. The film will feature a wide array of Van Gogh’s workings.
Tickets are currently on sale and for the full experience it’s $4.00, just to watch the Loving Vincent movie it’s only $1.00. To obtain tickets visit the USU Eastern website at https://eastern.usu.edu/gec or you may purchase at the door on the day of the event.
