
Friday in the Dee Events Center on the campus of Weber State University, the Lady Spartans and the Lady Dinos met up knowing that it was win or go home. This was the third time the two teams played, with each team splitting the two meetings. In Friday morning’s contest it was the Emery Spartans taking the victory, moving on and the Lady Dinos going home after taking the 55-37 loss.
Thursday night both teams took part in the final two games of the evening. Carbon faced off with the No. 1 Judge Memorial Bulldogs, who came away with the 57-33 win. The Lady Spartans had their season come to an end this season the same as last at the hands of the Morgan Trojans, 45-42.
Sleeping fast both teams were back on the court at 11:10 Friday morning, and just like in the Judge Memorial contest the Dinos had a hard time scoring putting up nine in the first quarter and four in the second, the Spartans were able to put 26 points on the board taking a 26-13 lead into the locker room.
The second half was more of the first half with the Lady Dinos scoring just six in the third quarter. In the final quarter Carbon entered down 36-19,and rattled off 18 in the fourth, but the Lady Spartans were able to put up 19 taking the win.
For the Dinos Sydney Orth scored nine, pulling down five rebounds. Haley Garrish added eight with four boards and Amiah Timothy dropped in five and grabbing two rebounds. For the Dinos this brings their season to a close with a 13-10 record. Check back with Castle Country Radio next week as we will do a season in review for the Carbon Lady Dinos.
Baylee Jacobson led all scorers with 17 points and collected six rebounds. Brynn Gordon scored 10 and Tambrie Tuttle and Tatum Tanner both added nine each.
The Lady Spartans will now play their final game of the season tomorrow morning at 9:30 when they will take on Grantsville in the fifth and sixth place game. The Grantsville Cowboys lost last night to Layton Christian Academy 43-40.
