
The Lady Dinos put on an offensive clinic for the crowd Tuesday afternoon in their first home game of the season as they dispatched the Juan Diego Soaring Eagle 17-1 in three innings. Carbon collected 18 hits as their offense came alive and defensively only surrendered one.
The Dinos returned home after a weekend in St. George at the Warm Up Elite Tournament where they collected wins against Pleasant Grove , Grantsville and Grand.
Gia Bruno and Stevie Oman both put three RBI’s on the board with Bruno putting two homeruns in her stat column and Oman and Tenley Madsen added one as well. The entire team was firing on all cylinders as they scored all 17 runs in the first inning.
Seven Lady Dinos went 2-2 in the game including Bruno and Oman, Haven Byerly. Maddix Whiteside, Mollie Horsley, Brielle Sandoval and Makaya Scovill all connected in both at bats in really just two innings of work for the Dino offense.
Danica Adams and Madsen shared pitching duties putting together a gem. Adams gave up just one hit while striking out four and Madsen came in and allowed no hits and two strikeouts, the two combined for just 50 pitches in the victory.
Carbon sits at 6-2 and won’t really have the opportunity to enjoy the win as this was the first of three games this week.
Wednesday they will travel to Vernal to face the Uintah Utes. Last season in a game that was late in the season, the Utes defeated the Dinos 11-1. Uintah plays in the 5A class this season jumping up from 4A last year and ended the season 19-9, losing to Snow Canyon in the championship rounds.
Then on Friday they will face the reigning 3A state champion Grantsville Cowboys, a team they beat in St. George last weekend 13-2.
Time for the game on Friday is set for 3:30 at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Complex.
