
The Carbon Dino tennis team was back on the road on Tuesday to take on the Delta Rabbits. The Rabbits finished 2021 one spot behind the Dinos at the state tournament in seventh. On Tuesday, the Rabbits found four victories in five matches and earned the match win over Carbon 4-1.
Carbon fell to Uintah last Thursday and were looking to collect that first win, unfortunately Delta had other plans.
Delta won all the singles matches and the 1st Doubles match in straight sets, but 2nd Doubles was a different story.
The team of Zac Gregersen and Memphis Howell beat Delta’s Tallon Taylor and Michael Zhou in their first set 6-0. In set number two it went down to the wire with the duo from Carbon taking the win 7-5 getting Carbon on the board in straight sets.
The Dinos will now host the Carbon Invitational on Monday. The event was originally scheduled for March 11 but had to be rescheduled.
The meet will bring in schools from around the area to compete. the first matches are set to begin around 8:30 a.m..
After the Invitational, Carbon won’t be back in Price until April 14 when they welcome San Juan.
