Student actors are excited to be hosting their Spring production of The Legend of Mulan beginning March 19 and running through till April 1. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Parent Volunteer, Kobi Prettyman to discuss all the details.

“The kids are getting really excited. We’re getting started to do dress rehearsals starting next week and they’re winding down, they’ve been working on it hard throughout the year,” stated Prettyman. This production would be great for families to come out and enjoy with their children.

The production will take place at 6:00 pm at the Rio Theatre on Main Street in Helper. “They’re excited to actually perform on an actual stage. The stuff they did early in the year was just kind on the school stage. So they’re excited to have an audience and to have a real stage, and all the fun costumes and the things that come with actual theatre, so it’s going to be good,” explained Prettyman. The cost to attend the event for adults is $4.00, kids 3-18 years old are $3.00 and kids under 2 years are free.

Announcement of pre-sale tickets will be made on the school’s Facebook page. “The school also said that you can look on the Facebook page as well and they’ll be posting about tickets there. But you can buy tickets at the door too, they’re not required to be pre-sale, so you can just show up and buy tickets at the door,” said Prettyman. There will be concessions available to purchase during the production and all proceeds earned go back to the Helper Middle School Drama Department.

For further information about the production of The Legend of Mulan can be found on the school’s Facebook page or you can call the school at (435) 472-5441.
